UnBG is a free tool that removes the background from any video — entirely in your browser. We built it because every other "video background remover" we tried wanted us to upload our footage to a server, sign up for an account, sit in a queue, and then watermark the result.
What we believe
- Your video is yours. It should never have to leave your device for a quick edit.
- Free should mean free. No watermark, no signup, no "pro" tier hiding the actual feature.
- The web is a great runtime. Modern browsers can run AI models on your GPU — there's no need for a server in the middle.
How it works
We use Google's MediaPipe Selfie Segmentation model in the browser. Each frame of your video is segmented locally, the alpha channel is composed, and the result is re-encoded as a transparent WebM with the original audio at the original speed.
How we keep it free
UnBG is supported by ads (Google AdSense). That covers our hosting and lets us keep the whole tool free for everyone. If you'd like to support us, simply use the site — every visit helps.
